| Victorian Teachers' CODE of CONDUCT - How do you rate yourself professionally? |

|
| 10/12/2009 |
| Victorian teachers have a recognised Code of Coduct to assist teachers' decision-making and behaviour with regard to the ethical dilemmas encountered daily in their work. The Code was developed by and for Victorian teachers by the Victorian Institute of Teaching. A valuable tool for new and experienced teachers, it provides guidance on professional conduct, competence, and appropriate relationships and responses. The Code describes key principles based on the values of integrity, respect and responsibility. The resources are not designed to dictate behaviour, but to help teachers find the right path through grey areas. Visit the online workshop and view all the resources at www.vit.vic.edu.au |

| "More than just the Top Line" - 2010 Salary Increase & Earnings for the Relief Teacher |

|
| 29/01/2010 |
| As your single employer and placement manager, Resource Ed can maximise your take home pay and superannuation earnings and remove the complexity of accepting and declining job opportunities from multiple school employers. Resource Ed increased its gross salary level to teachers by the full increase that applied to teachers in DEECD schools in January 2010, and 9% superannuation is assured once the threshold is met from your work in multiple schools, not each one individually.
For the teacher there is usually no better "bottom line" value than working for Resource Ed Personnel as the main relief teaching employer. With the Resource Ed management system working for you, once you have accepted a placement you will receive no further offers for that day.
Schools may advise that you can work for more in gross salary "top-line" comparisons, but may not be as understanding of the implications for your fortnightly take-home net pay and the uncertainty of superannuation entitlements, nor of the value of support services provided to you: strategic placement management, simplified salary & earnings management, specialised practical Professional Learning, advice on school clients, online Availability management 24/7 and cash rebates for anaphylaxis certification.
Our services to schools removes for them the frustration of repeat declined offers which otherwise could jeopardise the teacher's prospects of future consideration and saves them time usually spent on sourcing their own teachers and the management of local payroll. Our Area Manager acts as a convenient interface between teachers and schools by respecting reciprocal perceptions of suitability and preferences.
Resource Ed provides convenient and efficient services to teachers and schools that we charge for to meet the costs of provision.
History suggests that increasing numbers of schools and teachers value our services highly, but ultimately each needs to assess that value individually according to local, personal or professional circumstance or need. |
