Education Officer, STATE LIBRARY of VICTORIA (fixed term, full time) 

A fixed contract full time role as Education Officer is available at The State Library of Victoria, from 22nd September /or 6th October until 19th December 2008. The role includes delivering VELS linked exhibition and library tours and workshops to the many school groups that visit our Swanston Street site daily, and developing a range of VELS linked education resources. You must be a qualified teacher, and have the ability to hit the ground running, and be part of a cohesive and collaborative team. Our team is a diverse one of varying areas of expertise and experience, and we welcome new graduates, as much as we welcome those teachers looking for a short term and challenging change to their teaching repertoire. The role may include some travel in the country in November, with 4 days away from Melbourne delivering offsite programs, handling exciting rare collections. Your excellent skills in organisation and problem solving will be tantamount. The job requires public speaking on a daily basis, and the ability to recount historical information without a script in hand. Applicants should briefly (two paragraphs for each criteria) address the selection criteria below and forward it by 5pm 8th September 2008, with CV to Samantha Tidy, Education Programs and Offsite Learning Manager.
