This full-day program, designed  for art specialist teachers and all teachers of all levels, introduces the VELS Thinking Domain and associated standards. Through using thinking tools in practical activities at Heide, teachers will discover how these powerful techniques can enrich classroom learning and how they can actively engage students with refreshing and relevant learning experiences. Teachers are  provided with practical strategies to collaborate with colleagues across curricular boundaries. Thinking tools covered include: Multiple Intelligences, Thinker’s Keys, Habits of Mind, Learning Style Analysis tools, the Herrmann Whole Brain Thinking Advantage and Higher Order Thinking. The REdP Relief Teaching Seminar introduces participants to the expectations, benefits, challenges and joys of relief teaching, and it offers excellent opportunity to meet other relief teachers about to commence. Unique strategies, techniques and skills specific to relief teaching are identified and participants are provided with an extensive kit of resources, ideas and activities to help them start successfully. Participants learn about salary arrangements, schools' expectations and programs, VELS for the relief teacher, online availability management, contract opportunities and how our local Area Managers provide relief teachers with placement opportunities, advice and support.

The session will  run from 4.30pm until 7.00pm at the Glenroy RSL Club at 186 Glenroy Road GLENROY, and is available to all Resource Ed teachers at no charge. Other relief teachers or specialists not registered with Resource Ed are still very welcome to attend for a fee of $40, which becomes deductable from their Resource Joining Fee upon application.

Learn at your own pace at home ONLINE or by WORKBOOK, and then attend a single 6 hour Practical Training and Assessment at Mulgrave Country Club in the school vacation.
